Showcase Feedback
On Thursday 28th March, we had our Media Showcase where we got to show off our 2 minute film openings to our school peers, teachers and family members. After all our films had been screened we had the opportunity to film some of the reactions and opinions on our clips. Here is a few that we recorded...
By doing this form of feedback we could gain a range of opinions on what appealed to everyone about our opening and to see if it had made an impact and/or the audience understood the background and storyline to the film.

Title Sequence Inspiration
From the title sequence at the beginning, it inspired our background for the title of our film. The ball moving quickly and getting larger like it has just been kicked inspired out kick from a side perspective.
Coach Carter has the names of who features in the film towards the end. It helped with our clip as we noted how well it looked when all the font, size and colour was the same. This clip also helped with the the fade to white giving an impact.
although spiderman doesn't have anything to do with the genre of sport like the above, I really liked the way the titles moved and had effects to them. It made them more interesting and gave an individual edge. This in a way helped us lean towards having an effect on our title sequence which was later chosen as "Soft Edge".

Clothing for the film.
As part of our film we have to consider all aspects of our film including the Mise-En-Scene.
Here is what the protagonist wears in our clip!
Two Left Feet Update.
Here is our film so far. After evaluating it ourselves we have picked up on a few things we need to change;
- Credits need to be longer - preferably 6 Seconds
- Title needs to be 6 seconds, BIGGER font and away from the centre (ball)
- Make "Directed by Karen Bennett" more whiter as it has pink/purple hints
- Change our production company
Film Summary
I've realised that I may have blogged about the summary of our film but it is not written down here, so...
If our clip would be in a full film, the storyline would be that a girl has this extreme passion and love for a football club however her playing skills are a disaster! The team she supports is Arsenal FC and regularly goes to matches which fuels the emotions again and again. The production would start off with a trip of her going to an Arsenal game with one of her friends - her clothing an arsenal top and scarf along with burgundy blazers (keeping with the theme!) all illustrate the passion she has and in comparison to her friend. Between the clips of her journey around the stadium, the audience gets an insight into how BAD she is at football and how unimpressed her friends are to be always dragged to play. The protagonist doesn't realise that she is bad at football and wants to peruse a career in professional football with the Arsenal Ladies. By chance and luck on the day she meets fellow Arsenal fan Dara Ó'Briain at the game outside the stadium.
The film contains all the hardships that the protagonist goes through - parental disparagement, coaches giving up on her and friends leaving her after focusing too much on something that is less likely to happen. In the end she decides to give up on her dream and visits the stadium in a 'what could have been' feeling. She again meets Dara O'Briain who tells her not to tie up on her areas and sees how much she has changed over the time since he last saw her.
The film ends with the protagonist commentating on an Arsenal Game - not quite her full dream but still sharing her passion.

Film Rating
As part of creating our opening we needed to decide what certificate we would give it. Therefore we spent some time looking on BBFC website to analyse and see which of the certificates is most appropriate to our film.
After some consideration, we have decided to rate our film as a "U", as there aren't any inappropriate themes or scenes of any kind. It won't contain any bad language and swearing, even for comedic purposes like they use in films such as 21 jumpstreet or the hangover, where they have to add bad language in order to make it funny. Our comedy lies in the storyline itself as our main character is very bad at football, and even then there won't be any bad violent content, the worst case scenario would be the girl getting hit in the head with a football.
and here is our vlog for extra confirmation!

Thoughts...
Its 71 days till our deadline is up for our film and we still have a bit to do! After changing our storyline for a third time we have to now film so more which shouldn't really take more than a few hours to do in the next week or two!
We still havent come up with a name for our film either which i think will be a bit difficult in finding one appropriate to our clip and the meaning behind it.
In a previous post, i talked about the music that will accompany the shots. and over the last two weeks i have found some more idea's which i will pitch to my group!
